Sharing real life stories at an event organised by the African Women Empowerment Forum in Nottingham. This event was attended by people from all walks of life, politicians,pastors,lawyers,teachers, parents, children, church goers and many others. The driving force behind this event was highlighting the plight of women who sought asylum leaving behind their families and now seeking help to be reunited with them. Faith Gakanje is one such women, who sought ย asylum in 2002 leaving behind five children including a one year old baby. Her journey and resilience living in the diaspora touched many hearts.
