Voices of Change – Youth Storytelling for a Kinder Newport

“Voices of Change”

Is a powerful new project launching this August in Newport, Wales, aimed at tackling bullying through creativity, empathy, and youth-led storytelling.

Running from August to December 2025, the project invites 40–60 young people aged 11–18 to take part in a transformative journey of self-expression and advocacy. Through workshops in creative writing, spoken word, film, photography, and digital media, participants will explore their experiences with bullying and develop compelling content that promotes kindness, courage, and community.

Guided by professional artists and youth mentors, young storytellers will collaborate to produce impactful anti-bullying projects—ranging from short films and podcasts to zines, theatre, and public art. These works will be shared with the wider community during Anti-Bullying Week (10–16 November 2025) at a citywide showcase featuring performances, exhibitions, school events, and an online launch.

At its heart, Voices of Change is about youth leadership, creative empowerment, and making a difference. By giving young people the tools to tell their stories and shape public dialogue, the project aims to build empathy, shift culture, and create lasting change.
